Jane Goodall Living Naturally in Tanzania

The awe inspiring story of Dame Jane Goodall, UN Messenger of Peace, began at a young age with the gift of her cherished and beloved toy chimpanzee known as “Jubilee.” Born in the UK, her charismatic and fateful career fulfilled a childhood dream which first took her to the Kenyan highlands in Africa and later to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania, where she spent close to fifty years studying primate behavior. Her research and keen insights have earned numerous awards, degrees, and esteemed honors throughout the world

“My mission is to create a world where we will live in harmony with nature.”

She was welcomed back to Canada in Calgary on April 8, 2015, a few days after her 81st birthday. Her talk “Journey Beyond the Jungle” is an inspiration to live naturally with respect for nature. With 8000 chapters in more than 130 countries, her Roots and Shoots program was first established in 1991 to bring youth (preschool to University age) to work on environmental, ecological, and humanitarian issues.
