1 Product, So Many Uses… But Why?

You may have noticed that many of our products are labelled “for most skin conditions” and also come with a variety of uses. Our skin gel can be used for a wide range of things from first aid to beauty to skin care; our shampoo and conditioner can be used on all hair types to prevent dryness and dandruff, to nourish and moisturize, to strengthen and volumize, as well as to cleanse and purify; and our lip balms are made to soothe, repair and hydrate.

But how can each of these products offer so many benefits? I mean, if you want to tone your skin you buy a facial toner, if you need an antibacterial ointment for cuts and scrapes you buy just that, if you have dandruff and want to add volume to your hair you buy dandruff shampoo and volumizing conditioner, right?

Well, that seems to be the case when using non-natural products. This is because they are often designed for a singular task, and that coupled with harsh ingredients can often leave other areas of your hair, skin or lips begging for attention.

But while synthetic products often provide just one or two uses, natural products seem to offer more than you can even count. This is because our bodies know what to do with them, and our skin can properly absorb, filter and respond to the numerous benefits they have to offer.

So, why does our skin gel in particular have such far reaching benefits?

The answer is in our core ingredients.

Aloe Vera. We all know that aloe offers great relief from burns, sunburns, bug bites and poison ivy; it also helps speed the recovery process. There are 3 varying uses for aloe right there. But you may not have known that it also contains bacteria-fighting properties and can help reduce inflammation while rejuvenating and rebuilding healthy tissue at an accelerated rate. Aloe vera naturally penetrates deep within the skin, promoting the healing of sores, bruises, frostbite, poison ivy, wounds, insect bites, athlete’s foot, cuts, rashes, the list goes on.

Rosemary. While more commonly recognized for its culinary purposes, rosemary actually offers quite the package when it comes to medicinal and cosmetic uses. When topically applied, rosemary increases warmth and stimulates blood circulation, which helps relieve cold feet, tired legs, sore muscles, arthritis, rheumatic pain and gout. Working through the skin as a detoxifying agent, rosemary helps to rid the body of harmful toxins, stimulates cell renewal, increases the skin’s elasticity and postpones the process of deterioration due to aging. With disinfectant and antibiotic properties it can also help clear acne by fighting bacteria and regulating oil secretions, assist in preventing infections, and treat skin conditions such as athlete’s foot, psoriasis and eczema.

Tea Tree. The natural lipids found in tea tree are known for being antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, anti-inflammatory as well as having disinfectant, analgesic (pain killing) and cicatrisant (wound healing) abilities. These unique properties have led to tea tree’s reputation as an all-around beneficial ingredient that make it effective against funguses, various species of Candida (yeast), cold sores, muscle and joint pain, as well as for dealing with acne and in-grown hairs.

Vitamin E. Rich in antioxidant properties, Vitamin E offers many benefits, from protecting against sun damage and other environmental stressors to maintaining the skin’s barrier oil balance. Your skin’s barrier function plays an essential role in the overall health of your body. Its primary functions are to prevent your organs from drying, while also protect them from external elements. Topical application of vitamin E can help strengthen your skin’s barrier function and reduce transepidermal water loss from the skin. It also works to protect the skin barrier’s oil balance, which can be damaged during the cleansing process.

Witch Hazel. High in tannins, witch hazel can help dry and tighten skin tissue, tighten pores and remove excess oil. It also has the ability to fight bacteria which further helps maintain clear, healthy skin. With astringent, anti-irritant, and surface numbing properties witch hazel can pull the irritation out of insect bites, sunburns, sore muscles, and more. And with soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, it has long been used to reduce swelling and help repair broken skin.

Now, put these ingredients all together and that is one seriously multi-purpose product! Of course, our all natural skin gel won’t do everything for everybody, however, it will effectively serve many different functions for most.
