5 Beauty Resolutions to Make for 2019

We’re now a couple weeks into the new year, and hopefully those New Year’s resolutions you made are holding strong. You know, to take better care of yourself, eat healthy, and live a more natural life. So why not add another to the list? We’ve got 5 beauty resolutions to make for 2019 because you deserve to look and feel your best.

Exfoliate weekly

Exfoliation is a key part of a beauty routine. It speeds up your skin’s natural process which helps it look younger. But, you only want to do this once or twice a week. Any more than that and you’re likely to experience excessive dryness, irritation, redness and sensitivity.

And it’s not just your face that needs exfoliation, be sure to do your elbows, heels, arms and legs as well while you’re in the shower.

For a quick exfoliation product, mix 1/2 a cup of our true natural skin gel with brown sugar or baking soda; mixing in a little bit at a time until the texture is gritty, not sharp.

Keep all of your skin hydrated (not just your face and hands)

Treat all of your skin the way you treat your face: with a routine. This includes regular cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing. After a shower, while your skin is still slightly damp, apply a natural, nurturing moisturizer from face to feet. Opt for one that is non-greasy and fast absorbing and your skin will be pampered in no time!

Keep a moisturizing product with you at all times

Dry skin is so irritating, and it can happen anytime, anywhere. And it doesn’t just affect your hands. That’s why number 3 of our beauty resolutions isn’t just about carrying a hand moisturizer with you, but a moisturizing product. Because your face can get flaky too, especially this time of year. You’ll be prepared for anything when you keep a small bottle of our moisturizing skin gel in your handbag. It can be used on your hands, face, neck, legs, wherever you might need some instant hydration.

Give your hair a deep condition

Mornings are rushed, I know, but if you really want that natural conditioner to work, you’ve gotta give it time. And the right conditions.

Did you know that hair should be wrung out before you apply the conditioner? You want to get rid of as much excess water as you can before applying it. If you do have the time, you’ll be rewarded even more if you towel dry your hair before putting on the conditioner.

Then you need to wait for at least two minutes before rinsing. This gives the natural ingredients time to penetrate and properly moisturize.

Make time for baths

Baths are a great way to relax and unwind, and they can also be great for your skin. Which is why this year, we want you to add baths to your list of beauty resolutions.

We’ve compiled a list of simple, yet luxurious bath recipes that will cleanse, soothe and rejuvenate your skin. We hope you’ll take twenty minutes to half-an-hour once or twice a month to soak up all this goodness. Be sure to set the mood – dim the lights, clear your mind, lose distractions (phone, book, magazine, etc.), and play some soft music – you want to lay back and relax! And don’t forget to bring a nice large cup of ice-water in with you to stay hydrated.

Not only will these baths provide you with some precious “me time” but they’ll also help you de-stress, offering another health, skin and beauty benefit!
